President's Report

Greetings Members & Industry Partners of IREM 92:

Please take a few minutes to read through this e-newsletter to catch up on all the events and news happenings within Chapter 92.

Welcome back from summer vacation!  I hope you had a relaxing and fun time with family and friends.  Like many of you, I always look forward to our Annual Crab Feast in September.  Unfortunately, I was in Miami and my flight was canceled due to Hurricane Irma.  I apologize for not being able to join all of you for the event.

The September Crab Feast was another huge success with crabs, shrimp and all the fixings enjoyed by many.  Thank you to everyone who participated in the 50/50 raffle.  We made a $200 donation to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund and one lucky winner went home $200 richer!  The 2018 Slate of Officers was approved by the IREM membership.  Installation for your 2018 Officers will take place at the November 8th Dinner Meeting at Maggiano's of Chevy Chase. 

Our 15th Annual Golf Tournament was held on Friday, September 15th at Bretton Woods. It was a beautiful day and lots of fun.  Thank you to all of the Sponsors & Foursome Participants.  You can see a complete list of our sponsors below.  We look forward to presenting The Fisher House at Walter Reed Medical Center with a proceeds check at our November 8th Dinner Meeting.

Our 6th Annual MEGA Meeting is only a few days away on Wednesday, October 4th.  This joint chapter event is co-hosted with IREM Chapters 8 & 77.  This year, we are excited to welcome Steve Rizzo, The Attitude Adjuster, as our Keynote Speaker.  See below for all the details on this fantastic event.  The following week, members of our Chapter Leadership Team will gather in the windy city of Chicago to attend the IREM Global Summit Conference.  Join us!  This conference is open to anyone - CLICK HERE for all the details on this exciting leadership conference.

Are you a Social Media Expert?  Do you love to get creative with your pictures & posts?  We need your help!  We are looking for a chapter member who wants to get more involved with the chapter in an area that they already LOVE!  Attend our events and help us post.  Help us share Industry related news on our social media platforms.  Special incentives are available for your help.  Email Jamie Carr, our Association Executive, for more information if you are interested in helping the chapter get more social!

Please consider volunteering for a 2018 committee.  These groups are forming now and we are always interested in listening to new ideas and having new members join.  Please reach out to our Association Executive if you are interested in getting more involved in the chapter -

Speaking of our Industry Partners, I wanted to share a picture of the great team from Pioneer Building Services, Inc.  They recently did a service project over at The Fisher House in Silver Spring. The Fisher House is now sparkling thanks to Pioneer and we love that they are supporting an organization that we also support with our Charity Golf Tournament!

IREM Chapters 8, 77 & 92 join forces to present the 6th Annual MEGA Meeting... We spend most of our waking hours at our place of employment and much more of our leisure time thinking about it.  We can let the stress, fast pace, and challenges control our emotions or we can lighten up, have fun, and enjoy the process.  It's always a matter of choice!  Acquiring a healthy state of mind is the essential in order to produce quality sales, quality customer service, teamwork, and communication.  Steve will show how to overcome the everyday pressures that can stifle productivity and creativity in the workplace, while enjoying the process.  He will also share tools for maximizing your success and happiness - both in the office and at home...


His Attitude Adjustment Strategies will teach attendees how to shift their way of thinking and laugh while doing it.  If you want to motivate yourself or your team to do more, be more, and achieve more... this is the program for you.  Register for this Keynote Presentation for your own personal development and growth OR register a group of employees from your company for an afternoon of training and team-building.

Community Involvement Update

Fall Coat Drive - October 5th to November 8th:

Accepting new and gently used clean coats.  Women, Men and Children - all sizes are welcome!  This coat drive is being sponsored in partnership with IREM 92 & Community Services Foundation.  You can drop off your donation anytime between 10/5 and 11/8 at one of the following locations OR, bring your donation with you to our November General Membership Meeting on 11/8 @ Maggiano's Little Italy of Chevy Chase.

Private Offerings:

Spread the word that Private Offering Courses are available for your company - groups of 10 or more.  This means an instructor comes to your site and holds a class for just your company's employees.  The idea is to get a group of people to "fast track" their way to a CPM, ARM, or ACoM designation.  The more people in the class, the lower the price per person.  For more information on this excellent opportunity, contact the Region 3 Education office at 301.948.6234 or download the Private Offerings Brochure here!
